“At every point in time, there are infinite possibilities and a parallel reality exists for each possibility, so there are literally infinite branches...” ― the character of Daniel Jackson in the TV series Stargate, Episode: 'Point Of View'
Decisions are also very important and influential parts of our individual universe.
When making a decision, you are deciding between at least two possibilities before you. Having decided to take one concrete course of action, you actually divide the whole individual universe, made of infinite possibilities, into two parts: the one in which you have taken an action, and all the others in which you haven’t. This decision-making process is being done on all levels of our existence, all the time, often unconsciously.
Small, everyday decisions made while doing chores, for example, are unconscious. When you become aware of these micro-decisions made during the normal day, you are entering the mindfulness meditation and state of Presence, which in fact clears up your mind and heart. Through that process of becoming aware of every little move, breath, thought, word and so on, you are becoming aware of these micro-decisions. In that way, you are re-uniting the countless individual universes that were previously split up in that incessant decision-making process; you are re-uniting yourself. So, don’t underestimate the importance of these micro-decisions and making yourself aware of them as much as possible.
On the other hand, conscious decision-making can also have key influence over our lives, not only because they can push us onto a completely different lifeline than the one we originally wanted/expected, but because, once made, they can sink into our subconscious and become habitual. If made during childhood, those decisions could literally become our fate.
For instance, when I was 7 years old, every time I behaved noisily and extrovertly at school, I was attacked by a boy from my class who was the local bully. From that state of fear, I made a decision to completely change my social behavior and became, from then on, an introvert. Whenever I was in a group of children, that decision made me behave shyly and reclusively. The actual problem was that this decision quickly became deeply unconscious, so for a long time I couldn’t find the real cause of my strong and annoying tendency towards that kind of behavior. Only recently have I been able to become aware of it and remove it.
How can we remove these negative, unwittingly made decisions from our past? Simply, with the DTI+ technique. You have to delve deeply and seriously into your past in order to do so, and the best tool for that purpose is the timeline.
When you find a negative decision, do the DTI+ on it a few times. For the MH part, either choose an opposite, positive statement/decision, or a statement with which you will surpass any new unnecessary splitting of your possibilities.
For example, in my case the decision was: “I have to be quiet in any company!” It hadn’t been expressed in words at that time, as I recall it more as a feeling. It was a strong decision after which I had been noticeably less attacked, so it had served its purpose quite successfully. Anyway, the decision was soon suppressed, forgotten and moved to the subconscious level. But it continued to influence my life persistently.
I immediately did the DTI+ on that decision 5 times. For the MH part I chose this statement: “I am a completely relaxed person in any company.” I did the DTI+ process again in the next few days, so I felt that the problem was definitely resolved.
Now, there are also many good decisions you’ve made in the past. Of course, you don’t have to remove or replace them. However, since they sometimes oppose each other, they can create constant challenges and procrastination. That’s why you have to harmonize them, and the best option is to use the Convergence Procedure. Harmonize them one by one. For that purpose, use one of the core states as one polarity, and the positive decision that you are working on as the other polarity.
You can also make completely new decisions for your life that will serve as very strong affirmations. Implement them through the MH technique. But don’t be surprised if, during that process, you get distracted by some unexpected mind content. Perhaps some thoughts, emotions or sensations will get into your focus and divert it from the MH statement. As we already know, that content will be an expression of your inner obstacles to the goal you want to achieve, so you will have to remove it with the DTI+ technique. Of course, the MH part will be the same MH statement related to the decision which you are working on.
