With this procedure we are removing an unwanted mind content and adding a new desired mind content (we can also call it the “target content”), all in a single, unified process.
Essentially, this procedure is a combination of the Dissolving the Temporary I (DTI) and Moving to the Heart (MH). It is an act of unification of mind and heart.
With the first part of the technique (the “DTI part”) you are dissolving the unwanted content within your mind. Then, from that state of pure consciousness, you are introducing a new content and merging it with the Heart’s will.
The “Dissolving the Temporary I Plus” (or, shortened, DTI+) in its first five steps is the same as normal DTI. The difference is that we are adding the target (desired) content with a sixth step, as part of Moving to the Heart procedure, which in this way becomes an integral element of the DTI+.
The procedure consists of these six steps:
1. Notice slightly the content of your experience.
2. Feel the Temporary I from whose vantage point you are experiencing the content.
3. Expand your Temporary I to the point where your I-feeling outgrows its own existence, and enter a state of pure consciousness, while inhaling deeply.
4. While exhaling, imagine that the whole existence is shrinking down and disappearing inside that pure consciousness.
5. Stay a while within the pure consciousness. There is no “I” and no existence.
(With these first five steps, the DTI part, we have removed your unwanted content of mind. Now comes the MH part, with which we will create the wanted, target content.)
6. After 5-10 seconds spent in pure consciousness, feel the target content from the Heart, with an emphasis on your new identity as the person perceiving the content. Tell yourself: “I am the one who is experiencing this mind content,” and feel from your Heart this new identity. Optionally, you can state again from the Heart’s vantage point: “I choose to be the person who experiences… (the target content).”

This DTI+ technique can be applied to various unpleasant experiences in everyday life, just like the original DTI. The difference is that, with DTI+, you are immediately adding a desired experience to replace the previous, unpleasant one with. So, instead of simply staying in a state of Presence or Pure Consciousness at the end of the exercise, you are deliberately moving into another experience at your will.
