Take full responsibility for your own life. That’s one of the fundamental principles of the Reintegration System, and one of the direct implications of the so-called Holographic Principle.
Holographic point of view can sound bizarre to our rational mind. It depicts the phenomenon of any provisional part containing complete information about the bigger system which it belongs to. In other words, we, as parts of the Universe, have within us all information about the Universe. That also means that we are the Universe. We are the source. And this implicates that we are responsible for everything, as we are the source. But what exactly does “taking full responsibility for our life” mean? It does not mean to take full control, nor it implicates blaming ourself for anything. It merely means to truly acknowledge and feel that we are the genuine source of all events in our life that are of any personal significance to us. To be fully responsible for life can also have two meanings: one is responsible for their own individual reality (limited responsibility) or the entire Universe (Existence). These meanings stem from two interpretations of the Holographic Principle: limited and total view. Two Points of View of the Holographic Principle According to the Limited View of the Holographic Principle, all entities are symbolically volumes with their surfaces. Those surfaces have all information on the volumes. On the other hand, the Total View of the Holographic Principle assumes that the entire Existence is inherently indivisible, so every entity has complete information on the Existence. First, here are some thoughts on the “limited” interpretation. The Holographic view of the universe has been relatively recently proposed by several renowned theoretical physicists (Leonard Susskind, Stanford University; Charles Thorn, University of Florida; Gerard 't Hooftand, Utrecht University; and several others) that were exploring string theory and an information paradox related to black holes.[1] The outcome of their analysis was: the surface of any volume contains all the information about that very volume. In other words, all particles, structures, or events within a limited volume of space-time are mirrored on the surface of that volume, and vice versa. Now, this leads us to a significant consequence to our everyday life. For us, if our being is a kind of the “volume,” what would be its “surface”? It is the external world that we perceive. [1] Reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle All particles, structures, or events within a limited volume of space-time are mirrored on the surface of that volume, and vice versa.
The reality is being experienced through our senses, on the “surface” of our being. So, our individual experience of the outer reality is that surface! Therefore, the outer reality and our inner being must correspond to each other. Each has complete information on the other. Whatever is inside our being, is perfectly mirrored in our external world, although in a strange and symbolical way. Note that this relates to our individual reality only, not to the whole universe.
However, the Limited View of the Holographic Principle has an inevitable consequence: every human being is fully responsible for their individual life, in all its aspects. The Limited View of the Holographic Principle has an inevitable consequence: every human being is fully responsible for their individual life, in all its aspects.
The second and much broader way of thinking about the Holographic Principle is the “total approach.” It originates from the idea of indivisibility of the Primordial Oneness (or the Source, God). As the Primordial Oneness is not prone to any division due to its very nature (oneness), any limited entity or structure is actually an illusion, and it still equals to the same Primordial Oneness.
This also means that any entity potentially has the entire information within itself on the whole Existence. Although it is hard to believe in this, there is a possibility to extract any information from any subject, as that subject is an illusion and there is only Oneness, which is independent of the space-time limitations. Chief consequences of the “total approach” to the Holographic Principle are: We are one. Inherently, we are the Primordial Oneness, God. And yes, we are responsible for the whole of Existence. Layers of Holographic Reality
From our individual point of view, there are several layers of reality. Their main differentiating characteristics is the level of apparent influence we usually exert on them. Beyond our inner world, in the external world, first, there is our physical body. It is an intersection between inner and outer reality. It actually belongs to the external reality, but our mind is deeply attached to it. It represents the first and closest layer to our inner being. Seemingly, we have a robust, continuous, and decisive influence on this part of our reality. Then there are people and circumstances we are surrounded with: family, home, friends, co-workers, various life events, accidents, etc. Typically, we exert occasional but considerable influence on these people and events. Going further on, we experience our wider environment – neighborhood, broader organization/company we are working at, many acquittances, and so on. This environment is whatever we have some slight or rare influence on. Then there are social and global events around us. We perceive almost zero influence by us on those people or events. The layers are shown in the figure below.
Now, let's take a look at each layer from another angle. What exactly is mirrored in those layers? What is the practical value of recognizing them?
Here are some insights on each of the layers:
1. Our body – it is the result of everything we have partially suppressed, but typically have not completely expressed toward the outer world.
This suppressed content consists typically of our emotions and thoughts which are highly repetitive. Their expression can be various body features, illnesses, and disorders. However, if we are firmly dedicated to the health conditions of the body, have a perfect diet, and exercise a lot, many negative emotions or thoughts will not be able to manifest as diseases. They will instead express themselves in adverse actions and behaviors of other people. 2. Family, friends, repetitive or significant events, regular activities, some accidents, etc. – all are mirroring everything we have partially suppressed. Those hidden or forgotten emotions, traumas, thoughts, and other subconscious structures are typically expressing themselves in our behavior and everyday reality, occasionally. Generally speaking, whatever cannot express itself in our physical bodies, will be manifested in our environment. Usually, the mind content which manifests itself on this level is not unique to us, i.e., belongs to the collective mind of various groups we are part of. These thoughts and feelings are actually manifesting themselves in our individual being, and we perceive them as our own mind content. 3. Our wider environment – everything we have suppressed or forgot almost entirely in this lifetime. This is everything we are experiencing and occasionally observing within our neighborhood, broader organization, or environment that we seemingly have very little or no influence on. This layer of our personal universe is the manifestation of thoughts and emotions that we were experiencing in our early childhood, as well as during the semi-conscious or unconscious periods of our life (dreams, sleeping, comatose states or similar). Also, these thoughts and feelings are usually collective – thoughts and feelings that are experienced by many other people in such states of mind but always perceived as the one’s own mind content. Of course, this does not lessen the individual’s responsibility for the content. 4. Our experience of global events, Universe, and the entire Existence – this is everything which has been experienced in our other Existences (lives), that we have suppressed or forgot completely. Although we are responsible for the way of how we experience the global events, we cannot do much about those things. It seems that our influence on this circle of reality is negligible. (Note that some modern metaphysicists may argue that we are even choosing the whole universes every moment, all the time. Their theoretical foundation is the Wheeler's Many Worlds Theory, which is getting more support among quantum physicists in the recent years.) Ultimately, we are one with the Source, the Primordial Reality, God. Therefore, we are completely responsible for the whole of Existence, although we are not conscious of that. Nevertheless, taking full responsibility for global events and the entire Existence would require dis-identification from all limited identities and points of view within the Existence. This means an ultimate expansion of consciousness or final liberation. This state (if we could call it “state” at all) is beyond all confines of the mind, matter, energy, and space-time. It is the only True Reality, but to our limited minds, it is still far beyond any comprehension. Practical Value Is it really possible to get some actual value out of the Holographic View? Absolutely. Some of the concrete ways of implementing these ideas were presented in my books “Inner Peace, Outer Success” and “Deep Personal Transformation,” as well as in the article “How the Holographic View Leads to Genuine Happiness.” Here is an excerpt from the article mentioned above on the practical ways of recognizing the Holographic symbolism in our everyday life: “Just look around yourself. Watch the members of your family, your friends, lovers, enemies. Watch the habitual situations, events, omens. As you delve deeply into a state without thoughts, into the meditative state or Presence, you will be able to find patterns easily. Moreover, if you are assisted with your intuition, you will often recognize your own fears, desires, beliefs, or other aspects of your psyche. Everything outside of you is reflecting your internal reality in a symbolic way.” Write down the names of all members of your family, all your closest friends, and all the people you perceive as annoying, including enemies (if you have them). Along with each name put their main characteristics and behaviors. All those traits are your own traits, too, but many of them, especially the annoying ones, are hidden deep within the depths of your subconscious mind, forgotten, and suppressed a long time ago. You may create a similar list which will contain virtually anything you perceive as significant in your life, for example, closer environment, current life events or processes, pets, your home's inner and outer appearance, your office, job, the company you work for… Anything around you does carry some vital information about you and your hidden traits. Do not forget to make a list related to your body. Your appearance, main body features, possible ailments, etc. Everything will give you a valuable lesson. Generally speaking, when a suppressed part of our being needs to express (or “feed”) itself, it first manifests on the outskirts of our individual reality, among some hardly recognizable people or situations. Being unrecognized, it “moves” closer to us gradually. It becomes part of our nearby environment, showing itself within the behavior of our closest friends, parents, children, or spouse. If still not recognized and solved, the issue moves inside – right into our body, possibly as an illness or disorder. That is the final and the most severe stage, in which the forgotten part is screaming out for our attention and acceptance. When a suppressed part of our being needs to express (or “feed”) itself, it first manifests on the outskirts of our individual reality. Being unrecognized, it “moves” closer to us gradually.
Unfortunately, the illness is usually treated on the physical level only, and even if the treatment is successful, the solution is never the final one, until the real cause is not revealed and resolved.
Real Life Example Here are some examples of recognizing the mirroring of one’s inner being in their external reality. One of my friends, we'll name her “Sara,” has recently become aware of several suppressed issues thanks to insights into the roles of her close relatives and friends. For instance, her father in law has been annoying to her since the beginning of her marriage. From her point of view, he was always domineering and trying to control anyone around him. Also, he was overly judgmental toward others, often criticizing people for everything. His vanity was huge. His behavior was bothering Sara a lot all these years. Also, Sara was having an issue with some of her close neighbors. They were so unbelievably dirty that the smell from their house and backyard was too often penetrating her own home. Having learned the basic principles and ideas of the Holographic View, she became able to recognize that all of these issues that other people had, were actually her own, deeply hidden traits, and she always used to deny them. Sara recalled the time in her childhood when she used to behave dominantly toward the children in her vicinity. Her parents criticized her for that, so she suppressed that trait pretty successfully. However, from that point on, the trait was always trying to express itself in the outer reality, though the same behavior of other people toward her. She also evoked the concrete events from the early years of her life when she used to feel an extreme disgust toward some places and people’s smells. Again, after being scolded by her parents, she suppressed that reaction too. Now, the connection between those past experiences and current issues with neighbors became obvious. These two main problems demanded serious work, and Sara did her best indeed. When she applied several Reintegration techniques, the inner parts were reintegrated with the wholeness of her being, and she felt that the issues were finally released. After these multiple processes, she stopped feeling annoyed and bothered by her father-in-law's behavior, and by her neighbors' habits as well. But this was not all. Sara did not wait too long to see some real changes in her external world. Something dramatic happened with father-in-law. He passed through a traumatic experience after which he changed his behavior toward her and other people as well. It was like a miracle. After a few weeks only, her neighbors moved away! Sara could not believe how big was the scope of the changes she did inside. That not only enabled her to become inherently independent of some people and their behaviors, but the people themselves went through significant changes in real life! Sara could not believe how big was the scope of the changes she did inside. That not only enabled her to become inherently independent of some people and their behaviors, but the people themselves went through significant changes in real life!
Inner workings of karma
The Holographic Principle is hidden in every aspect of reality. For example, it can clearly explain the inner workings of karma. How does a right or wrong action return back eventually? The Holographic Principle elegantly explains this, too. How does a right or wrong action return back eventually? The Holographic Principle elegantly explains this, too.
Let us take an example of our misconduct – expressing aggression toward another human being.
Our behavior is always an expression of the corresponding inner parts of our personality. In this example, a part of our being must express itself through an aggressive behavior eventually. The holographic principle tells us that all our inner parts are mirrored in people and circumstances outside. In our example, there must be a person in our environment which represents our aggression; he or she behaves aggressively from our point of view. That person will inevitably do the same action to us. That will be the reaction from the outside world. This reaction from the external world can occur even before our similar action to the outer world, but we are often unaware of their inner connection. Now, it is easy to conclude that karma is the consequence of unconscious living, of unintegrated parts of our inner being which must manifest themselves in our external world, inevitably. If they remain in that unnatural state – there is karma. But the Holographic Principle gives us invaluable advice: if we integrate our unconscious, suppressed parts with the unity of our being, we will become free of karma. If we integrate our unconscious, suppressed parts with the unity of our being, we will become free of karma.
As we are gradually becoming free of the vicious cycle of actions and reactions, we are increasingly getting free of suffering. We are taking full responsibility for our life and getting closer to the final liberation, Supreme Reality, the Source of Everything.
